Thanks so much OP and everyone, got 2 stands and 2 double light holders on each and they are great.

I've always found metal flake, in most colors, to hide the swirls. And without sounding like I'm sending you to the eye doctor, it does take a little time to "train" your eye to see the defects hidden in all of that flake. That being said, it's easy enough to add a cheap halogen spot light to your arsenal and use both.

So I notice that the original products listed are no longer available/listed on Amazon. There are a ton of different dual light umbrellas, stands, and light bulbs. What would you recommend if you were to update all three items?

If I search "dual bulb holder" on amazon, I still get the Neweer dual bulb holders I used when I just built mine? Also they have a 6 ft tripod for $20. As far as bulbs, the hyperion ones talked about at the end of the thread here are the way to go - Great light quality and very light for what it is.

I just bought the dual bulb holder, was $14. I have a large stock pile of manfrotto light stands (way overkill for this), and have yet to make my way to Home Depot for bulbs... but I don't think you can go wrong with anything from amazon as long as its a dual bulb holder. I'm not sure what you're talking about with Umbrellas though.

Re: DIY LED Work Light (much better than halogen!)

So just wondering - would all these parts work together?

    1. Stand - https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Photog...ds=light+stand
    2. Dual Light Fixture - https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Photog...light+umbrella
    3. Bulbs recommended by Zach - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Would I need anything else for this to work?

Are you guys building one or two of these light stands?

Re: DIY LED Work Light (much better than halogen!)

If you wanted to do a 4 bulb setup on one stand, you'll need one of these too:

    http://www.amazon.com/CowboyStudio-P...G9Q77TRP9WZZAP

Otherwise you're good to go! Right now I use one of these and a $25 costco 4' led tube setup (think fluorescent replacement). If you can swing it, I think another light stand would come in handy. I suppose it all comes down to what kind of lighting you already have in your work space.

Let us know how it goes!
