    Hose Nozzle Frustration - Craftsman?

In short, the $8 ones from the general home improvement store are just junk as they tend to leak or break in short order. I have had so many over the years.

Last year I gave up and bought the old fashioned brass twist like this one but it is not great although, it won't break: Amazon.com : Dramm 12380 Heavy-Duty Brass Adjustable Hose Nozzle : Watering Nozzles : Patio, Lawn & Garden

I just bought the Craftsman rubber hose after all the good reviews and warranty since I am tired of fixing and replacing hoses too.

I saw this Craftsman nozzle and wondered if anyone had any experience with it. If it is Craftsman, it has the lifetime warranty...

I haven't used that one, but it looks pretty nice. Is it really that different from the $8 ones? I have one like the pictured one that I got at Lowe's or Home Depot or Wal-Mart or Target, it's metal and I think I've been using it for about 5 years (and I think it was in that $8 range). It's getting some UV damage on the rubber coating and plastic parts and looks a little ragged from getting knocked around, but it still works ok.

It's the all-plastic ones that seem to fall apart "in short order". Anyway, that looks like a nice one--one observation, it's easier to get accidentally sprayed with ones like that which have the handle on the back, makes it easier to bump the handle when you are putting the hose down than the ones that have the handle on the other side, sort of under the selector nozzle.

I just did some warranty and it looks like this just has a 1 year warranty.

I kind of look at them as a commodity/wear item that I expect to have to replace every few years.

Hard to beat a metal Gilmour. I ran over mine with a SUV and it still works fine!

Are you referring to this one?

Yes! They are definitely more robust than the plastic style nozzle with the spinner adjustment for spray pattern.

This is some fancy Gilmour, I'm just saying get one with the handle in front, less chance of smacking the handle and giving yourself a spray when putting it down.

Most times I just use my brass valve instead of a sprayer nozzle. Otherwise, its a wear item and once it starts to leak, buy another 2 pack.
