Did I use too much IRONX?

I am preparing to apply CQUK to my daughters 2014 VW Jetta tomorrow.

Today I washed, IronX'd, and clayed.

It was really interesting seeing what the IronX does on a white car.

First time using IronX. I used about two thirds of the bottle.

    Did I use too much?

Yeah, I guess that would help... It was the .5L bottle (16.9oz).

Forgive me for the noob question, but I've come across many posts that talk about iron X. Some people use it on wheels, sold use it on paint, what I want to know is what does it really do, and is there any additional benefits vs just a clay bar

    Here's its description:

I see. Thank you for the link.
So it basically removes iron containing particles underneath the surface that a clay bar would not be able to remove. I think I will try it in the future, but right now I have my tuition to worry about

I usually use about that much, maybe a little less, when using the bottle.

Switching to a pressurized sprayer really helped. I use less product and it distributes more evenly.

I used a bunch myself. Same size bottle, used just more than half, ordered ferrous dueller to try next

You probably didn't use too much with the spray-on technique.

What I do is spray panel by panel, wait 30 seconds, and then spread it with a microfiber applicator. This, to me, helps me believe I am not wasting product. If some panels show a lot of bleeding I may spray a little more on if my gut says it will help.
