    Meguiars Mirror Glaze 7 & Collinite

    A friend gave me what was left of his Meguiars Mirror Glaze 7. After doing some reading it appears that it has no protecting ability and its use is help with short term shine. I plan on putting on Collinite 845 this week and was wondering if I should use the mirror glaze before or after the Collininte, or not use it all and stick only with the Collinite

    Let's set aside the Meguiar's #7 for just a moment.

    What is the current "condition" of your vehicle's paint...
    Are you going to do any polishing with an abrasive product
    before you apply the Collinite #845?

    The reason I ask is (back to good ol' #7) that Meguiar's #7
    is a "pure polish"---having no abrasives---but plenty of Meguiar's trade secret (T.S.) oils. And from my experience with it for many decades now: Adds plenty of gloss!

    With that being said:
    -Do you want to try #7, after polishing-out any paint defects (if any), to add some gloss---perceived or not?
    Go ahead, I say!

    -Now as far as using #7, and then adding the necessary LSP on top of it:
    I've used about every Wax I've ever owned, could borrow or steal...including Collinite #845...without incurring any snafus.

    Have FUN!

    It's a new Explorer so the paint is in good shape so I will not be using any abrasive products. I plan on washing, maybe claying, then #7 with Collonite being last.

    Due to this site, I told the car dealer to not detail or wash the car before I picked it up. His response was priceless basically saying that his detailers were pro's. I told him if the Explorer was washed and detailed the deal was off and if his dealership sticker was on it, the deal was off also.

    If available, you may want to use a "swirl finder" light
    after claying.

    I always polish after claying---even if only an fine-grade Polish is deemed necessary. M205; Meguiar's UP;
    3M Imperial; etc.
