I would actually use the tire stuff on the bed cover, easier to spred. Btw you NOOBS to using the TW tire costing don't worry about the color of the product, it dries black

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
Does the "brand" of tire matter when looking for results?
I purchased this product and looks and worked great with the Michelin's on my car. However, with the same cleaning process on my Yukon with Bridgestones, I am very dissapointed. I have applied 3 coats compared to the 1 coat on the Michelins and it looks like I did nothing to the Bridgestones after 1 day of driving the Yukon.
For reference:
2011 Infiniti M37s with Michelin's purchased in 2013
2015 Yukon purchased 3 weeks ago with new Bridgestones.
Thoughts?

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
I would do another cleaning and reapply, I too notice a difference between tires but it's always looked good even after weeks.

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
Yes for sure the tire brand makes a difference. We found out this winter that winter tires also make a difference. there is some experimenting on each tire and age and even application temp. Warmer temps seem to be better. It can be effective to do your 2-4 coats one day and maybe do another 1-2 coats a day in the future. Just have to experiment. It definitely isn't as fussy as some products.

New tires have a lot of release agents that take a while to finally get them out of the rubber. I find it takes time & cleaning. Some brands have more than others. My new Nitto tires seemed to clean easily and absorbed my tire sealant quick and looked good (maybe less release agents?). But the Goodyears on my other vehicle did not absorb the sealant, evenly even know I cleaned them well. It's been about 6 months and the last attempt at cleaning and re-sealing seemed to finally work (maybe more release agents?). They look good now. My wife just installed new Bridgestones, so I am afraid those will take a while to de-gas and get all the release agents out.

Thank you all for your replies. I thought I was going nuts for a minute.
I will re-clean and try again this weekend.

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
I found similar results with new Goodyear tires. Streaky appearance when dry. After driving 100 or so miles and a few rain storms, I cleaned them again and attempted the coating. The results were now what I expected and the coating has been on since December.

Re: Coated my tires today and WOW,
I know this thread is about TW and we all love it or at the very least really like it but I've put a couple comments on here about DP tire coating. I did an initial 3 costs and thought it looked great but after a week or two it really toned down compared to TW. Now I should say it's new tires compared to ones with miles on them and warmer temps, so on and so fourth.
So today my car was Bird bombed and I hit the quarter carwash to get rid of it. I also rinsed off the tires and wheels and dried them immediately like normal. I get home and then notice Browning on 2 of the 4 tires. A simple spray of Bleache White on a Mr towel and I noticed black reidue coming off. Now I have to say this is something I did not notice with TW, it seemed to repel dirt better and clean up was just that, clean up and the sheen lasted weeks before it turned into a matte, natural finish which during the winter lasted the entire time.
I'm really thinking DP isn't going to do well against TW here, did I mention the price difference....what, too early 😝
