    D156 as drying agent

Hi, so I know you can use it as a drying agent but can't seem to find any links, videos or threads about how to use it as a drying agent.

Do I need to mix it with water in a spray bottle?

Wash car, rinse car, spray the above D156 mix and dry as normal?

it's RTU so if you use it as a drying agent while the car is still wet (i prefer to use a spray wax when it's dry) it will dilute it down a little...

I use it straight out of the gallon and it works flawlessly--even in cold and hot temperatures.

Such a good product; everyone should try it once.

Thanks for the replies. The video shows how to use it after the car has been dried. So that didn't help.

So for drying agent just wash, rinse then spray D156. Water on car will dilute it and then I just wipe dry as normal? The d156 somehow aids in drying the car faster and leaves a protective layer?

    Hi dbizzle22,

Check out vid below. At 7:25, imagine D156 instead of product at hand with a damp microfiber. I've been doing this for a while now with excellent result.

    Drying Aid

Good reference. I alternate between D156 or M135 as a drying aid.

    Re: D156 as drying agent

I have tried a number of quick detailers and quick waxes as I dry my cars and D156 works so well (in additional to its top notch use as a spray wax) that it is now my go-to. Considering it's price point in the gallon size I see myself sticking to it for many years to come. As I have learned more about Meguiar's professional line of products, I have continually been impressed with performance and price.

If you haven't tried this please do it at least once. Just use your favorite spray wax. No need arguing over what that is. It works and when you try it you'll see why people do it. If you want to drive around the block once before doing it fine but there's no need if you have a couple of towels. I like to use a 16 X 16 microfiber that I squeeze the water out of and a guzzler to go back over it. You can use the spray wax on the car or on the 16 X 16 MF. It gets those spots you may have missed as well. Don't forget to report back your experience.

D156 is in my detailing hall of fame. Its a ridiculously great product.
In my day we didn't have the Internet, iPods,iPads, or smart phones....but we had some really bad-azz cars.
