Re: purpose of a quick detailer
The purpose of a quick detailer is to clean light, and remove light particles(bird bombs, dust, etc) while adding a little protection for a few days

Plenty of "spray detailer" information in this article:

Re: purpose of a quick detailer
They are often used between washes to maintain the vehicle's appearance as '"freshly detailed" so in most cases they are removing light road grime, the occasional bird poo, and dust.
Here is an example, the black F430(Scuderia Spider 16M for the Ferrari fans in the audience) in the shot below had accumulated a very fine coat of dust while being transported across the country, It had been pretty well detailed before leaving California so no need to rewash, nor any serious "detail" work, I just used a quick detailer and a quality microfiber to carefully remove the dust and restore the gloss before a photo shoot.
Appearance after just a quick detail wipe for the shoot.(before anyone asks, no that isn't a visible paint defect next to the headlight, it is a reflection of part of the soft box's rigging!)

Amazing how PRO lighting and photography shows the actually quality of the work.

OP, seeing that your a noob can I make a suggestion to you, pick up a gallon of DG rinseless wash and not only can you wash your car easier but you can make your own quick detailer as well as clay lube. Lots of info on rinseless wash but you can PM and I'll guide you through it.

Re: purpose of a quick detailer
Good advice. ONR can make good quick detailer and it's cheap. I use Optimum No Rinse and Shine and also No Rinse and wax for it.
