The guys putting it down say you should be able to hear your car rust as you drive...................

    That sounds about right!

To the OP: I pressure wash the undercarriage of my vehicles on a weekly basis at least. I believe it is absolutely necessary!

Yes I do. Been accused of going overboard under a car. My thought is if you can see it then it gets cleaned. Hate folks that drive cars that run rims that you can see through and the wells and suspension pieces look like crap.

Salt put the last nail in the coffin for my Pathfinder's rear silencer. It fell off today. Salt does contribute to rust. I ordered a new Bosal cat back exhaust.

I like people whose cars are dirty as all he'll but the tires and rims always glisten. Seems stupid to me.

You mean the ones that the tires an rims are worth more than the car......

$3000 of tires and rims on a $500 car....

Don't forget the $2000 stereo on top of that....

Yet another reason not to live in NY. Though now even Atlanta isn't safe from ice and snow, I guess I'll be looking at Zillow for homes in AZ.

I have a 64 Impala from CA and you can tell by looking down the side of the car that it's not from New York.

They have to rewire the salt truck at least once during the winter to have rear lights........

I've been using the "Salt Away" product. It helps rinse away salt, because salt is fairly inert and can't be easily neutralized.

Its popular with people who own boats, so at least its not snake oil. Whether it really contributes anything to car care remains to be seen.

I should say that it didn't seem to take off the sealant coat of Collinite I had on there, so you don't have to give up your overall protection to use it.
