Milk (baby formula) stain on suede

Have a 9 month old at home and her car seat base has been installed in my TSX for several months without being removed. My baby dropped a half full bottle between the car seat and the base and it leaked onto my seat . Unfortunately, my wife forgot to tell me. I removed the base this morning and found a baby formula stain on the suede. I'm not worried about the leather portion of the seat but the whole center back and seat is suede. Anybody ever deal with something like this? I know suede can be temperamental.

That's actually a fancy microfiber material designed to imitate suede.

Try using a microfiber towel dampened with hot water. You can also try a foaming carpet cleaner, just be sure to perform a test spot in an inconspicuous area first.

I just did a similar stain removal on a fabric seat though it hadn't been there for quite so long. I used Chemical Guys Fabric Clean at 1:20 dilution (they advertise this as having enzymes that will break down the milk proteins and remove the smell), scrubbed the bejeezus out of it with a carpet brush and the. Extracted the area with a Bissell LGM. I had to repeat the process 3 times to get it all out but it did work in the end.

Since Nick says this is a microfiber material then you should be safe with a similar process.

Steam or a hot wet MF will work really well. It is water soluble after all. I would soak it first like that. Then a fabric cleaner. CG fabric clean or Lightening fast with a very soft brush or towel will make it new!

thanks for the tips! Good to know that it's not real suede. I'll try the hot water/steam and a microfiber towel to start.

Just realized, I forgot to post an update on this stain. I used some extra hot water and a MF towel as suggested and the stain came right out . Appreciate the help!!

yep, just got one for it. I had heard that they're not safe as they make car seat slips on the cover but I had no problem getting a tight fit with the latch system. Thanks for the heads up!
