professional detail, but may be light rain?
Hi,
I am having my first exterior only full detail done tomorrow morning with a place that
all detailing is done inside, but the forecast is calling for on and off light rain. Even though
the detail is inside, I should have no concerns?
I just hope when I come back to inspect the car, he will leave it in the bay. Would be
pretty hard to properly inspect if the car become rain covered.
Do most professional detailers with shops detail rain or shine with no issues?
Thanks

I personally detail rain or shine... it just becomes way to complicated trying to coordinate an already hectic schedule with hectic weather patterns. If you are unfortunate enough to have to drive the car in the rain immediately after having it fully detailed, you may simply ask if they wouldn't mind doing a free or discounted maintenance wash for you once better weather rolls around. It never hurts to ask.

I do feel bad when things like this happen but I can not control the weather but I do always apologize about the weather and offer a greatly discounted maintenance wash as Zach has said but his is just meothers my not but the worst they can say is no.

What LSP are they going to be applying?
Some require to not become "wetted" for a certain time period.
These Professionals should know what environmental conditions to avoid, if any.
Pretty soon you should be doing your own detailing. (AGO has that affect on folks)
Then you will be better able to control scenarios such as this.

This is a good point... I remember you bringing up Opti-Coat in one of your other threads.
I cannot recall if you had said you were going to be having it applied or not? If so, here is what OPT has to say about Opti-Coat Pro

Zach,
He will be doing an iron-x hand wash, clay treatment, machine polish and
a sealant. I am not sure what type of sealant, but I know its NOT Opti-Coat.
Of course, he is doing this ALL inside his shop, so I am assuming a light
misty rain, if any, should not be an issue.

Best to check if see if the LSP might be a Sealant.
Some of those are also meant to be kept out of "wet conditions" for a sizeable time period as well.

Have faith in your detailer... he'll do what's best. Never hurts to ask questions though Be sure to post up some pics, and if it's raining - post some beading shots!
