So, you bought Turtle Wax car wash and Home Depot towels and decided to come here to ask how to use it?

I tend to believe there are a lot of people on this forum who could make a car look pretty fantastic using nothing but OTC products.

Oh sure, it's that old thing that good tools can really help people that don't know what they are doing, but people who are experts can get great results with crummy tools...or something like that.
I think Swanic's point goes more to people expecting a bunch of help here when they didn't buy anything here. We used to have a member who was a pro detailer who came here all the time posting his Show n' Shines and with his business name and website link in his sig...and then he would bash AG and defiantly state that he never buys anything--ever--from AG...###?
It kind of reminds me of the TV series star (I don't remember who it was) who was talking about people who would come up to him on the street and want to talk to him...demanded to talk to him, because they felt they knew him from him coming into their livingroom for all those years...when he wasn't that character and they didn't know him. People don't seem to understand some basic things anymore about courtesy, privacy, and boundaries (personal or property).
Usually when people come here using OTC products, they wind up learning and stepping up to "boutique" products eventually. Sometimes people need something fast and I sometimes encourage new members to try some OTC products to make sure they actually "like" detailing before jumping in with both feet.
So here I go...Evo77...yes there are some decent towels OTC, even some inexpensive decent towels. However, for the application you have (rinseless washing) you need a towel that has good absorbency, a fairly long weave, etc. Unfortunately, I know of no such towels that are a "bargain". For this task, you are going to have to ante up and buy some more expensive towels.
As an alternate, you might eschew the Bill D method and just get one piece of wash media and use a rinse bucket...the muppet-head wash sponges available OTC are quite nice.

Probably need to be washed a time or two. I have a pack somewhere that I was saving for something...but I can't remember what I think I took one and put it into "rotation" but it's at the bottom of the drawer and I never get to it before I wash the others

Hmmm - never had that problem, but as Setec said, I did wash them first.
