Sanded through clear coat - touch up paint help
Hi all,
In efforts to remove a key scratch on my old beater honda civic I accidentally sanded through the clear and paint on a small spot (a little smaller than a dime) I don't care about it that much so I was just going to put a little but of touch up paint over the spot to hide the color difference. Question is - how inportant is it to cover the whole spot that is through the clear vs just the spot that is primer? I am just concerned about the clear coat peeling - not so much aesthetics. Should it matter either way?

To repair it properly it probably needs to be re sprayed.
