Handheld Digital Microscope
I saw this the other day. For those who are really "crazy" about polishing paint....it seems that you can even take a photo of what you see. Soon we will be looking at microscopic photos of paint, scratches, swirls, coatings.... I find it very cool.
What do you guys think ?
Here is the description
Prepare to be amazed! Have you ever wondered what industrial fallout looks like up close? Or how scratches look when magnified more than 50 times? We certainly have, and not just for fun either; we can think of many occasions in the past when it would have been really useful to be able to inspect problems on cars up close. Since buying a Celestron LCD Handheld Digital Microscope for use in our studio, all of this has changed. We're now able to inspect bonded contaminants and determine their nature more easily (the first time you see a corroding fallout particle up close you'll be amazed), and also better understand the shape and depth of stone chips and scratches prior to rectifying them. By being able to better see, and therefore better understand, what you are dealing with, you will become a better detailer. Recommended!

How are the pictures uploaded to a computer? Seems cool, I saw one of Gary Dean's videos and he used something like this and really caught my interest.
Bluetooth would be awesome! Lol

USB 2.0 or Flash card/SD card.
Oh no, I see new products in the polishing world.
Mezerna 5500, 6500, 9500, 15500.
Megs 305, 405, 805.
What colors will they use for pads after gold?
We'll all be searching out products to get rid of the scratches we can now see with a microscope.
I've used their microscopes in the past, and I've always (at least since the 60s) been a big fan of their telescopes.

For real though. That thing looks pretty sweet and might even be helpful in determining if a defect is removable prior to removing excessive CC film build.
I've been looking into a few digital models that plug into a laptop and can take photos and everything. They are actually pretty cheap on that one famous auction site.

In reality, if I ever hired a detailer to do paint correction. And if he showed up, and brought out his laptop and a digital microscope to check on my paint. I would be really impressed as a detailer myself. Lol
