    Question on canopy size

    I want to buy an EZ UP type canopy this weekend. This is just for personal detailing. There are some on sale until Saturday 10x10. What size is large enough for an average compact car? My mustang which is my main concern is 15' long and approx 6' wide.

    Thanks, Spiney-Dave

    Well u need to consider in the size what time of day you'll be detailing. If at noon then one just big enough to cover the car is fine. If your not going to be doing it then u need to think about the angle the sun will be at and how much larger it will need to be to make up for that

    You can also shift the canopy as you work the car.

    I can get a 10 x 10 on sale for $49 just seems small. Says it provides 64sq' of shade. A 12x12 jumps up to $100. Seems much more robust. Then Pep Boys has a non ez up 10x15 on sale for $89. Not as ez to setup but much more shade. I was just wondering what mobile pros use? Thanks, Dave

    A 10x10 works but you have to move it a lot. Keep in mind that I have a lot of trouble setting up my 10x10 by myself, so I don't know whether the 12x12 is the same or worse. As someone else was saying, even with the 10x15 you're going to have sun come under it if it's low in the sky, of course that's not the worst time for getting the paint hot.

    Yes I wish it was bigger but for $49 I'll move my car around until I do the whole thing.
    12x12and bigger seem to start @ $150 or more.
    Just a FYI. Not a curse word. The name of the store is the shortened version of Richard's. Lol

    Re: Question on canopy size

    fyi

    10x15=150sq ft
    12x12=144sq ft

    So there's not "...much more shade" difference

    The ones for sale at ####'s require a coupon from the Sunday paper. Otherwise they are $69.
