Question What is needed for a new car?

Having just purchased a new Subaru Forester we want to get it protected. A lot of the advice on this forum seems to be for restoration. Can anyone provide advice on the "best" process and products for a new car and its first year?

What I mean by best: Long lasting - protects well, car will be outside part of the year. Of course needs to look great (but protection is the priority). Not a pro or obsessive, want to do this as little as possible. Car is blue. Interested in inside & outside protection. Have been looking at Wolfgang & Klasses.

Would also consider a service if it would be much better (Fairfax VA).

    Thanks!

If your not really interested in correcting it yourself. Find a legit Detailer have him do all the heavy work. Then get yourself an interior an exterior kit and do it yourself. Then just proper maintenance should get you plenty of years of nice shine. What's your budget?

I cant quote without looking at it in person. But I'm pretty sure your going to have to clay. And if your car has zero swirls then just a sealant and wax should do the trick.

Opti Coat looks amazing but don't much about it to advise you.

Opti-Coat is a new car best friend. All you need to do is wash it twice a month and avoid scratching as much as possible. You'll be pretty protected. Just keep in mind that it's not a force field and will not save you from heavy scratches.

Opticoat for sure. Did my 07 tundra and 2013 rav4. Maintenance is ridiculously easy.

    Thanks!
I looked at Opti-coat, great if it works - looks a bit like the $700 job the dealer tried to sell me (but for 10%)! I would be interested in long-term experience as well as how to prep for it. Also, do you use anything else to keep it fresh?

As for my budget, what I need to spend without going overboard.
