Re: yellowing carbonfiber Intake
Cheap resins are notorious for yellowing over time. It's sad because the manufacturers turn out a great looking piece, charge a premium for it, and then cut corners and use cheap resins which eventually yellow and/or fail depending on the application. In your case the heat from the engine compartment most likely accelerated the yellowing of the resin.

Re: yellowing carbonfiber Intake
called the guy who makes these he said dont use any kinda buffer on this carbon fiber gel coat best he could tell me was use a heat gun get the tube nice n WARM and rub Vaseline into scratches and dings to get some shine back then as it gets cool wipe/buff with a clean cloth by hand gave me a little more gloss but not the dark black it once was

Re: yellowing carbonfiber Intake
try to buff a small section of that carbon fiber
if it did restore the shine then go ahead and continue to the whole intake and finally get the Permanon Platinum Finish Protection
and use it on the intake and make sure u remove all oils from the surface before using permanon so it can bond properly
((Permanon Platinum is resistant to temperatures up to 572 degrees farenheit; a conventional car wax is stable up to 104 degrees farenheit))
