    Exclamation Deionized Water for noobs

    What's up fellow Geeks,

Here in Vegas, the hard water combined with the unforgiving sun is a bad combination for production detailing (I'm still a novice in detailing for money). What I do is pre filter my water using a GE "Smartwater" filter with a charcoal filtration system. It doesn't remove all water spots, but reduces them. The vehicles still needs spray wax and or a detailer just to get off the water spots. This is killing my time management and my budget.

I've looked into DI water systems for a few months now. I've ran across weekend warrior type engineering projects and there's a few low profile vendors on the internet, but I saw that Griot's now offers a mobile DI water filtration. It's something around $370 I think? My question is to all who use it in their rigs, how great has your investment been and how often must you refill the filtration system? How do you factor it into your cost?

I'm not sure what your set up is, but if are mobile & you have a tank you can install something like this at home and fill up for your tank before leaving.

Deluxe Clean Water Filter Kit, 2 step water filter system, water filter for car washing, inline hose filter

Thank you very much! This looks like my set up minus the water softening cartridge.
