    Considering painting tail lights

I've been thinking about painting my tail lights black on my black car.
    Any one got any tips?
Like what kinda paint, remove to paint or not, how many coats, clear coat or not, sand before? If so what grit?

    Re: Considering painting tail lights

I have done mine and a few others for people

Vht nightshade is what i used, max of 3 coats, and clearcoated,

Mine are on the Left and the right is a pair i did for some one that is the exact opposite of Mine

I actually used a decal to put a on there to make a knight's crest(emblem on my car) which let the natural amount of light through, i partially did it to deter getting hassled about it, and have yet to be

These reverse lights where and exception they wanted them DARK so they have 4 coats on them more like 5 becuase i did a thick 4th coat

VHT is a paint brand, nightshades is a transperant black paint, most auto parts stores carry it

Plastidip is at most major hardware store, i have only been able to find it at home depot

I also suggest getting prep spray(wax and grease remover) and Adeheasion promotor( clear primer)

OK so I should go with night shades in order to keep it visible as not to get pulled over right?
