Question about, uh, interiors and smells?
So what is the best way to clean up vomit on interior carpet and I guess disinfect it?
Right now I just shop vac'd it and took out the carpets and put them in my garage, but they smell really bad and I would like to make sure the car is as clean as it was pre-incident.
Luckily, not my car (it was the gfs car), but my gf isn't too happy with one of my friends right now....

You will need to steam clean and use one of these.

You'll probably want to use an enzyme cleaner, which will in effect "eat" the residue you can't vacuum out. I think probably you'd want to clean the mat well with APC, rinse (or pressure wash), extract the water with your shop vac, then follow the enzyme treatment instructions. I don't really see what I'm looking for here in the AG store, Lowe's or Home Depot should have something in the "janitorial" section. Just make sure it's ok for carpets because I believe some of the enzyme products are intended for hard surfaces like bathrooms and garbage cans.

Got a janitorial supply store near by? They will have what you need.

Try zep high traffic carpet cleaner. I use that along with APC/folex with good results

Enzyme cleaner, steam clean the mats and the car and then use an ozonator in the car with everything back in it.

In order to treat the carpets you need to neutralize the oder. One household item I would try is baking soda.
Vacuum the carpets and cover the carpets with the baking soda liberally. Let sit for 15 to 20 minutes and vacuum.
If that doesn't work stop at a pet supply store and pick up a product called NilOder.

an enzyme cleaner is all that is needed. I get mine from a carpet cleaning supply store.
