How to shade a pickup?

I don't have a garage but I was wondering how to shade a f250... I have two10x10 canopies that we use of cookouts but generally we know they suck.Any suggestions are appreciated.

Place the 10X10 canopy's end to end, stake or secure the legs so that they won't become airborne, now drive your truck under them.....assuming it fit in the first place....

I know this being my first time doing the whole nine yards ( wash, clay, correction using megs MF DA kit then wax ) I'm thinking two days... say I wash, then clay and start the tape / correction but only get the first step done.. the next day can I do the second step or do I have to rewash or spray wax the finish to remove whatever landed on it over night ( it would still be under the canopy )...

You would be OK with a waterless/rinseless wash the next day

Ugh another thing I've got to buy Haha. Thankful that BobbyG was helping me via PM on what to buy on a budget, I'm still over 500. But that's mainly because I dont have any chemicals..

If winds aren't a big issue when detailing then you can utilize a tarp with your canopies to increase your shade. I have an ezup that can be enclosed with included walls and has a small overhang/awning. You can use tarps to do something similar with what you already have.

Yeah I was thinking about that. What about going to a school on the weekend or somewhere with good shade and using a generator for power?

Mike Phillips has an article about working in the sun. This kinda comes from that but I am not trying to steal his statements. Anyway, you can prep the day before with wash/decontamination steps, and get a test spot done and tape off anything you want to tape off like rubber and plastic trim, etc. The next day start on the roof, completing all polishing/correction and apply the lsp. Then move to the hood finishing it completely, with lsp, as well. Basically, first complete the areas in the mornong that won't have direct sun on them, yet will later in the day. You can usually, move a vehicle to keep the verticle panels out of the sun even without coverage from a canopy. Use the sun to your advantage when feasible so you can inspect areas while working. If your truck doesn't fit under your canopies or park in the shade of your house or some other structure/object, then doing what I stated may be best.
If you have a generator then try working at a DIY carwash.

I think I can find a corner in a big parking lot somewhere or at a park or something... I didnt think about moving the truck around and have the sun behind the truck and not behind my back..
