Re: How to clean microfiber towels the EASY way!

Thnaks for sharing your MF washing method.

Mine is just as simple, but cheaper:

    1) Put microfibers in washer
    2) Put 1 capful of liquid laundry detergent in and wash microfibers
    3) Put microfibers in dryer and run dryer

Haven't had any issues yet, albeit I wash mine immediately after, to one day after a detail.

    Hi Roshan...

-Although your above MF towels washing-method is something I would never, ever do...
I'm glad you have not encountered any problems yet.

-I also keep any auto-glass MF towels seperate from any other towels---MF, or not...

If it works, it works I don't blame you A lot of people who use normal detergent have to buy specific detergent without fabric softener, as well as normally do vinegar rinse cycles. Compared to that way, a microfiber cleaner seems easier to me. However, yours is just as easy! My problem with laundry detergent is that I can't get good results after the MF towels have sat for a few days... which happens to me almost every time.

Gotcha. Man that's weird. Do they always lint? I think that would drive me up the wall.

    Just for clarification...Are you asking:

    1.) Why wouldn't I wash inexpensive---"cheapest of the cheap Walmart"...MF towels that's been used
on exhaust system components, together with: "expensive MF towels"?

    And:

2.) Have I ever tried, or done so, the above process?

    If so, then:

The answer to both questions, IMHO...is really a no brainer!!

    Bob

I also seperate Paint MF with Wheel/Exhasut/Engine MF. I use the same detergent we use for our baby's clothes (Tide Free and Clear).

Re: How to clean microfiber towels the EASY way!

I also wash my cheap microfibers with my Cobras. No problems yet. But, if the cheap ones are too bad I would just throw them out first. I also use the Wal-Mart (Microtex I believe?) cheap ones and they do not lint at all. The quality of the cheap Wal-Mart ones has gotten better over the last few years. The new Micro-Tex ones I bought were fluffy and pretty nice and 15 for $10. Perfect for wheels/glass/jams/engine etc.

Ihaveacamero, I'm getting low on my Micro-Restore and have been very happy with it but your reviews really make me lean towards Blackfire. Did you say DP is almost as good? I'm going to probably wait till one of the brands goes on BOGO.

Yeah I don't get why you wouldn't? If you presoak your MF Towels, do you use two different buckets of APC for your cheap MF towels and your expensive MF towels? I wouldn't.

The whole point of washing is to get the towels clean, and in my experience, if you're using the right cleaner, it doesn't matter what you put in the washer. Yes, I've put cheap MF towels that had dirt from interiors and exhaust in the same load with an expensive MF towel that I used to remove polish residue.

Both towels come out of the washer clean as a whistle and I inspect every towel before it goes into the dryer.

The expensive towels have not lost their characteristics or changed texture or feel at all.

I did, DP is almost as good or very close to equal performance. You save around ~$8 if you get a gallon of DP vs BF.

P.S. I've also learned that for some things, waiting on BOGO is not the way to get the best deal. If you calculate price per ounce, often times when you buy something that comes in a 16 oz bottle on BOGO (so 32 ounces total), the price is the same per ounce or even sometimes MORE than if you just bought the gallon. Food for thought
