    Opti-Eraser (Fine Grade)

So when AG first started carrying it, i placed my order for one of these the same day they got it up on the site.

I finally had the chance to try it out today.

My target is a 04 Ford Ranger in Oxford White.
The truck has a coat of CQ, that is about 1 year old.
And i clayed it probably 3 months back.

So I decon'ed my truck using TRIX, then i wash it with CG Mr.Pink. Rinsed off, while still wet i started using the opti eraser with ONR as clay lube.

I found the Opti Eraser was grabby, and as i glide over the paint, it didnt feel like it was picking up any containments at all.

I have to admit the truck was pretty clean to begin with, but there is some rough spots here and there.

I am not sure if i should have dry my truck before i started this process, but next time i will try this on a car that is heavily contaminated , just to see if it is working at all.

But anyways i will be polishing the paint tomorrow to remove some imperfections.
I'll be using my brand new Rupes 15, and coat it with 22PLE as my new coating.
Ill report back with a mini review of my opinion on both.

Did you break it in first...or is that not necessary with the Eraser?

as I have found out first hand, no break in procedure. I had originally thought there was, but was informed otherwise, then I tested it out and yup, no break in required. The Eraser simply is grabby, use lots of lube and it helps it somewhat, but still not the best clay alternative in my opinion.

Did you use it on the camaro? Is there a link or video?
Thanks for that info. I did not know this...I'm not quite sold on clay alternatives just yet.

    fenerpicks,

Even though it was grabby did you feel that it did indeed decontaminate the paint? Also, did you experience any marring of your cquartz layer?

I got one a couple of weeks ago, but the weather has been so lousy I haven't had a chance to try it. After viewing your video, and seeing some comments of others, I'm sort of wishing I had not bought it.

I didn't feel the Eraser was removing anything from my paint
But it didn't mar my paint at all
