GG DA + LC Foamed Wool pad + what compound?
Ive recently been using 5.5" LC Yellow ccs pads on my GG DA along with m105 on customers cars but it is such a pain to work with (as im sure you all know). I have actually been using the OTC Ultimate Compound instead of m105. I noticed that ultimate compound removed defects just about as well as m105 (not surprising since its pretty much the OTC version of m105), while being a little easier to remove. Ultimate compound, even being easier to remove than m105, still however is a pain compared to m205.
I want to try out the purple foamed wool pads instead of yellow CCS, since i hear they cut better. has anyone used the 6.5" purple foamed wool pads on a griots garage DA? i always use 5.5" pads on my gg to ensure they rotate well even under pressure, but have never used a 6.5" pad on it.
also, can anyone recommend a compound that is easier to use than m105? i would prefer a compound that does not break down (like SMAT by meguiars).
apologies if this has been talked to death on this forum, i havent been around in awhile due to school.
thanks for alll the replies!

Wool pads are not recommended for use with the DA. If you want that extra kick in cutting power, go with MicroFiber discs. Meguiar's & Optimum sell one of the best.
You can either go with the Meg's D300, or mix in a little M105 to give it a little more cut if needed.

I had success with GG DA, M105 and LC cool wave pads.
Too much trouble for me with CCS and M105.
PFW, I've only used it with a rotary with M105.

Use a mf pad with Meguiar's Correction Compound (D300 SMAT).

OP is talking about purple foamed wool and not pure wool which won't work on a DA.

thanks for all the replies. im about to say screw it and just dish out the $225 for a makita rotary.
1 more question. whats a good polishing pad comparable to the LC CCS white pads? the ccs pads keep disintegrating on me. either the backing peels off after a few uses or the pad just explodes while spinning.

i know which one your talking about i have that one as well but i havent used it this one?
Lake Country Hybrid Power Finish Ultra Performance Pad System, buffing pads, foam pads, polishing pads
i initially got it for my flex but like i said i havent tried it, the only time ive used a wool is on a rotary.
also outside the bag of that wool pad it says polishing not cutting

Reduce your speed to 5 and use less pressure.
