    1st Post - Comments/Questions

    Hey there all!

Received my X-Mas gift last week (Griot's 3rd gen with stuff). Used it for the first time today, on my beater truck to get some practice and figure this whole thing out. Learned some good stuff today.

    Comments:

AG is awesome. So much information. Still trying to digest it all. Tech support has been great at answering my spur-of-the-moment questions.

Love the Griots polisher. Seems like a well-made unit.

The beater truck looks awesome now. Still has lots of scratches, because it's a beater, but the paint is buttery-smooth and it looks 1000% better. I now feel confident that I can make the F250 look pimp! I need some zero-cut pads before I do this. Time to order more stuff.

    Questions:

    Following comment - 95 Ranger (beater truck) - Front quarter panel = 2 sections - Doors = 2 sections - Bed sides = 3 sections

(using Blackfire total seal & polish) Pads seamed to get realy hot, along with the G3. Unit got very hot @ center back-plate to pad joint as well. Ended up swaping pads after every section, as opposed to every 2 sections. Along with periodic breaks to let every cool down. Started to melt the center velcro backing one time. I read alot in here prior to today, so not sure.

Still feel like I'm using too much product, although I know to use very little.

What kind of extension cord are you using? Not using the write extension cord can damage the Polisher.
How much pressure are you using when buffing?
How much product are you using?

    Thanks for responses.
-All my extension cords are 14 gauge.
-pads are still spinning very fast and I'm not pushing on the buffer, so I feel I'm good there.
-2 quarter size dots of product to prime the pad. Then, 2 dime size dots per section. Really didn't use very much to do the entire truck. Cleaned the pads a couple times during the session (terry-cloth towel method). Didn't get much out of them at all.

I was on 5, per the instructions. Thinking I may slow it down a bit more next time and see if it operates any cooler.
