Re: What's better than Rain-X?
I'll definitely recommend Aquapel. I had it on my cars when I lived in Seattle and it would last 5-6 months before really showing signs of wearing off. It rains, a LOT, in Seattle too so it got a lot of use. I was going to try to get enough to do it myself on my Jeep on all windows (previous experience was the "chip repair guy" applying it to my windshield only for me), but then someone suggested the Griot's product and I just got some put on last night. No idea on durability but from what I read I'm hoping it'll be like Aquapel. Either way, the price was right so worst case it doesn't work long and I end up with 2-3 Aquapel applicators next time.

I love Aquapel, but the new Pinnacle Glass sealant is pretty good too! Plus a little goes a real real long way....
Back to the full-time grind.

Wow I thought it would be a simple question with definite answers!
Rain-X
Aquapel
Pinnacle Glass Sealant
G5
Griots Glass Sealant
Votes seem to be for Aquapel. Glad to see it's not $$$.

What do you use between applications of aquapel?

Re: What's better than Rain-X?
Aquapel has lasted me an entire year using windshield wipers (this includes a Canadian winter )
But I also would recommend Wolf's Chemicals glass guard, it lasts ridiculously long with wipers as well and is more cost effective since you can use it on many windows instead of just 1 like aquapel.
Griots glass sealant is decent, only lasts about 1-2 months though, but extremely cost effective so you can't complain.
Hands down though I'd recommend aquapel if you can nab it for $5 per applicator; 1 whole year of durability is hard to argue against.

GTechniq G1 (maximum durability) or G5 (maximum repellency). Or you can put G5 on top of G1 for the best of both worlds...

I just bought some Pinnacle, and wow does it go a long way! It hasn't been on much more than a couple weeks, so I can't comment on durability. This bottle will last me for a long time.
