    Gloves for washing in cold?

Greetings, does anyone use (not sure anything would work) any type of gloves while washing a car in colder weather (under 45 degree's)? I'm not sure if Autogeek sells any type of specialty glove for washing cars in cold weather.

    Thanks

Hit up Harbor Freight if you have one local. They have a few thicker, longer rubber gloves the work well for winter washing. They also have a light blue pair that is rubberized up to the forearm and then vinyl from there that covers your whole arm. Great for keeping whatever top your wearing dry when washing the roof!.

I wash with warm/hot water when I get a chance to bucket wash mid-winter & I wear common yellow rubber gloves and I skip the cold freezing sting of wet bare skin when it's < 40*

I cannot say much about 45 F since I usually work at 50 and above but I like the Platex gloves - purple, snug fit, durable, and available locally. They do shield hands from temp extemes cold/hot water.

My post from your thread started in October regarding winter washing:

I know I've posted this in other threads, but think it bears repeating here: When washing in the winter either outside or in an unheated garage with either a conventional wash or an ONR wash the hands get cold--even if using warm water.

I've been using these Neoprene Gloves for years since I lived in New Hamshire and they work exceptionally well --like a diving suit for your hands and they fit snuggly so easy to handle your wash and drying media.

I really like these gloves for winter washing:

SealSkinz Waterproof Gloves - Free Shipping at REI.com

They seem to have plastic in between the layers of the glove which keeps your hands dry.
You like Nattys, I like Souveran, and Justin is DP MaxWax. And you know what, its alright !!

I don't wear gloves while washing cars. You can find gloves for dishwashing that might work.

Just washed my truck today and the weather was in the 40's here in the Pittsburgh area. I didn't use gloves just warm water in all my buckets and all was fine!

Re: Gloves for washing in cold?

Thanks guys, appreciate the responses. I will have a look at the gloves. Good to know there is something out there. Having a house now gives me the luxury of finally being able to wash my car by hand..

I have to imagine if it is 37 degrees outside it may get a bit chilly without them. 45 degree's was a starting point
