    Meguiar's M101 Foam Cut-Compound versus Swirls!

    Meguiar's M101 Foam Cut-Compound versus Swirls!

This Thursday night we'll be showing the correction power of M101 Foam Pad Polish on Jay's swirled-out 1999 Trans Am and everyone that attends will not only get a chance to test out the new Meguiar's M101 Foam Cut-Compound.... they'll also get a chance to try it with multiple tools and pads...

    A detailer's dream come true!
Playing with all types of tools and pads with Meguiar's M101 Foam Pad Compound

    From left to right...
Meguiar's G110v2 with Lake Country Yellow Heavy Cut Foam Pad
Makita BO6040 with Surbuf 6.6" pad
Flex 3401 with Lake Country Ultra-Microfiber Pad

    Down in front...
Griot's Garage 3" Mini Polisher with Meguiar's 3" Microfiber Cutting Disc
    Meguiar's G110v2 with Meguiar's 5" Microfiber Cutting Disc

    To the right side...
DeWALT 849X Rotary Buffer aka Bumblebee
    Flex PE14 Rotary Polisher
Cyclo Model 5 Pro Orbital Polisher

Here's our extreme makeover candidate, this car has been neglected and sitting outside in South Florida weather, uncovered, exposed to the intense sun and wet, rainy weather since 2009! That's almost 4 years of neglect and zero attention!

    Sign-up - 1999 Trans Am Extreme Makeover!

    Date: Thursday, November 8th, 2012
    Time: 5:00pm

    Jay's new classic...
This is my buddy Jay's recent purchase, it's a Anniversary Edition 1999 Trans Am with the 6-Speed Hurst Shifter.

He's ordered a new graphics kit so our job will be to remove the graphics, buff out the paint and the apply the new graphics.

The body and paint are all intact just dull and filled with water spots and swirls...

    Swirl City!

The entire finish looks like the swirl shots taken in the sun below...

Close-up next to the hideaway headlight bucket -

Tip: Use a body line to help your camera lens to focus on the paint.

Get ready for some fun and feedback on the new Meguiar's M101 Foam Pad Compound...

    Just to note...

I did speak with Jason Rose about this project car and using the new M101 Foam Cut Compound and I asked for his recommendation and he recommended I use the M101 as it is formulated and intended to be used and that's with foam pads on rotary buffers.

So priority #1 will be to offer everyone that attends Thursday night's class a chance to use the system as it was designed to be used.

Since I know it's the nature of pro detailers and enthusiast detailers to like to experiment and push the envelope to the limit I do have all the above pictured tools and pads set-up and available for everyone to use.

    No...

I checked with Yancy a few weeks ago as to when his schedule would be freed up enough to hang out AFTER work all day and do a live broadcast and he said he would be ready for the extreme makeover on Tim's 1957.

If you click the link below you'll see I've stated the 1957 will be a live broadcast. It's in post #6 and I'll add the graphic today. So you might want to consider driving here Buddy and being a part of this M101 Project.

Tentatively, Yancy says he can be here to do a live broadcast.

I am interested to see how the MF cutting disc on the DA works with the 101 versus the D300 compound.

    Oh yeah...
Besides rotary buffers, check this out... plus of course I'll have the Porter Cable 7424XP, the Griot's Garage 6" DA Polisher and even an air powered 3M orbital sander hooked up for someone to play with.

Trying to get my body shop on the Meguiars line instead of the 3M line we are currently on.

What grit sanding marks can the 101 and a burgandy cutting pad eliminate Mike? 1200?

So I gotta ask since Mike asked me the same question earlier in another thread....

With M105 do you need M101? I mean how much cut do you really need?!?!?!?
