Bobby, I buy Simple Green by the gallon and it's very good at one thing. If your like me, and do mechanical work on your car(s) from time to time, you probably are left with a collection of greasy/filthy towels when you are done. If you add 1/4 cup of SG to the washing machine (per directions on the bottle), along with your detergent, it really removes grease from nasty dirty towels. Also, you don't get the grease ring around the washer. You can add it to your wash whenever you have to wash anything filthy and it really helps.
Besides that, I think it's a decent APC (not degreaser) for cleaning up tools when I don't want to use more expensive stuff. Actually, I just picked up another gallon. It's on sale at Home Depot for $8.88 a gallon. You can dilute it 10:1 for a pretty decent APC, but it might not be the best for detailing, but it's pretty good for cleaning stuff up around the garage.

I'd also add that when used on interior bits it will take the paint off of buttons and other controls...ask me how I know...

That is it's worst quality in my opinion.

- It corrodes aluminum terribly This is somewhat inaccurate these days. The original green-colored formula has this effect on uncoated aluminum and when the product is permitted to dry (Iron-X has a similar effect if left to dry). However, they do have products specifically designed for today. The ones I have seen are orange-colored.
- It's smell makes me nauseous It does have a medicinal scent to it. If I ever have a problem with this product I take a whiff of Iron-X and my mind is instantly reprogrammed.

According to The Safe Shopper's Bible, it also contains neurotoxins. It made me light headed when using it. After I learned it contained neurotoxins I knew why.
