What should I use to get rid of tar on bottom of car body
Car Care is something I've recently picked up. Washed a friend's truck today, and while wiping the lower part of the truck, I found a bunch of splattered black stuff. Probably tar from the road if I had to guess.
It wasn't alot, but it was all across the bottom of both sides. Macguiar's soap and microfiber wash mitt wouldn't do a thing to remove them.
* Is there a specific type of product, or brand that removes these types of stains well. ?
* Is the product harsh to the finish where I should use it only periodically ?
* Or can I use it as needed whenever I see this type of Tar < or whatever it is > stain on the car?
Thanks

Tarminator works great for the really bad tar! I have found Poorboy's Bug Squash to work good on the lighter tar at a dilution ratio of about 2:1.
You will want to at least apply a spray wax on the areas you treated though as both these products will degrade your sealant or wax some.

Mineral Spirits or Kerosene.

WD40 works the best. Spray it on an it melts away.

I'll try that first next time I get the chance. I always have a can around the house.

Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover. Cheap, easily found (no shipping), and effective!
