Yeah, I'll bet you were mowing the greens.

And if you weren't, you wanted to.

The Qashqai got a run today, to my Nephew's for a family gathering for Father's Day. I couldn't resist the lighting.

They took me off the mowing, I think they knew how much I enjoyed it. Instead, I get to deal with the customers instead.

Re: The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Meeting my friends at the Shell station before we head out to C&C's, small detour through The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread beforehandThe Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

So being in Mexico we decided to play door tag, keep away, etc and here's a brief "Tale of the Tape"

    -2017 Ford Fusion Sport
2.7L Ecoboost V6 twin turbo, 6 spd auto and AWD
    About 4100 lbs
    "Tuned" to run high 12's

    2022 Elantra N
    2.0L Turbo/8 spd "wet" DCT/FWD
    3300 lbs
    Stock everything
    Runs low-mid 13's

So at the first light we did a normal drag race. I set launch control @2700 rpm and waited for green. I launched and got horrendous wheel hop going into 2nd gear but the Fusion Sport was already about 2 cars ahead...so much for thatThe Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

The next race was on the freeway, straight shot noone infront of us. Dropped the speed down to 60 mph and we went on the 3rd horn honk where I just pulled ahead and kept going, about 3-4 car lengths. For this race I used the NGS button on the steering wheel which puts the car into "overboost" an extra 10 hp they say. This race was between 60-125 mph, gotta love MexicoThe Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread We did another race before re-entering the U.S. and it was the same result. Our other buddy has a Montune tuned Fiesta ST (larger FMIC, tune & intake) and the Ford Boys played around too.

All in all I was right and wrong about my predictions about the race, predicted I'd win the drag but lose the roll race, so much for that. My future plans are for an enlarged turbo inlet pipe and enclosed intake from SXTH Element and "maybe" a tune which combined nets +57 whp and +57 wheel lbs of torque...stay "tuned" never sounded so GREATThe Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits ThreadThe Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

The FJ was in for a service today, 212,500k on the odometer. As well as the standard stuff, it also got new front lower control arms, a front sway bar link set, and new tie rod ends, and the obligatory alignment afterwards. All up, $1980.00, including tax. And that was with the staff discount. It wasn't driving badly, but I could feel the difference driving home, felt more taut

Do you go to a local mechanic? where you actually get to talk to them or the big stealership.

Even better, we have our own workshop and mechanics where I work. They do everything from basic servicing to full customisations. So I know the guys, and they know me. In fact the young guy that worked on the FJ is actually into detailing as well, so he appreciated how good it looks for its age. I work in the warehouse sending out all the car parts, camping, hunting, and other stuff that gets ordered on their website and from eBay. Lots of cool and interesting stuff.
