Also reminds me of this Holley EFI dash. Been looking into EFI for the chevelle next mod…. Lot’s of folks talking to me about going to an LS but I feel a old school BB is just what belongs.

A 7.0L LS6 (LS) is still 427 cubes AND lighter AND revs higher AND more reliable AND makes power alot easier

I thought it was already an LS? Do what your heart says. If that's a big block, do a big block. BTW a 67 Chevelle with a 402 big block is what got me hooked on cars. A family friend owned an auto shop and built the car years ago. Has a 4 speed auto so he can cruise it to Tennessee and Florida without running at high RPMs.

I'm all about what makes you happy not what "belongs", if that's a big block so be it but don't do it if it doesn't really suit your needs as an owner... Have you watched Engine Masters on MotortendTV?
They have an episode on Chevy small block vs big block power, I love an engine that can rev so for me it would be the light(er) weight higher revving small block (and a manual transmission) all day long.

Another lifetime ago I had a 78' Caprice Classic 2 door with a "big small block" (406 cubes) w/ 5.7 rods and some special pistons. Now it had a mild hydrolic cam, flat tops, iron Dart heads w/2.05/1.60 ss valves, dual plane Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 780 Holley and 1 5/8" headers and this thing made power up to 6500 rpm...built for the 1320, along with 4000 stall and 4.88 gears. Street raced the hell out of it and after 2 seasons my ex-boss bought it and took it to the dragstrip where it ran a 12.3@108 mph...remember we're talking a Caprice Classic here.
I liked the best of both worlds, my competition...not so much because in the early 90's THIS was fast, today, about "average"
