Is the car garaged? How often are you able to wax it?
You will want to polish your car so it will look its best. You could throw a thousand dollar wax on it and it you couldn't tell a difference between that and a less expensive one.
So first make sure the paint properly prepped and go from there.

Re: wax choices? dark red corvette
After I have "prepped" Corvettes to the level that meets my expectations;
and, if I'm going to apply a "carnuba-wax product"---whether it's in paste or liquid forms:
#1:
Meguiars #26 Hi-Tech Paste Wax is carnauba paste car wax with polymer additives for maximum longevity. Meguiars #26 High Tech Paste Car Wax is great ($16.00)
This is a good one also:
3M Perfect It Show Car Paste Wax, 3m 39526, creates an ultra high gloss finish, with long-lasting protection! ($18.00)
So's this:
S100 Carnauba Wax is a hand-poured blend of German waxes, proprietary ingredients and pure Brazilian Carnauba wax. motorcycle wax, bike wax, s100 ($16.00)
And this one, too:
Collinite Marque D’Elegance Carnauba Paste Wax #915, car wax, paste auto wax ($32.00)<<<<Kind of expensive, IMO.
^^^^Just suggestions^^^^.
(And that's four(4) "carnuba-waxes"...for about $99.00...
To begin the: Waxing-Eloquently-Quest.)
-I'm going to have to ask:
Why are you not interested in liquid carnubas?
-Whichever "carnuba wax product" you do decide to purchase/use,
would you mind to keep us advised of your preference's performance? Thanks.

If the paint is properly prepped, Souveran.

Re: wax choices? dark red corvette
Collinite 915 is great value for money - looks better than its 476 and 845 brethren, lasts nearly as long as 476 (longer than 845), and just $30 for a 12 oz can. Might also be worth considering some of the Dodo waxes such as Blue Velvet Pro and Rainforest Rub, or CG 50/50 (have these as well, haven't used them yet though - but read good things about them).

-I'm going to have to ask:
Why are you not interested in liquid carnubas? I got a bunch from my leftovere motorcycle detail shop and expanding my collection I guess. Thanks!
