Mothers synthetic wax and holograms

The other day I washed and waxed my black camry. I waxed it with mothers synthetic wax, by hand, using an applicator I got from advanced auto. When I got done it was almost dark and the car looked really good. The next day I saw it in the sun and it was full of holograms like I used a rotary on it. My question is, what can I do by hand (if anything) to avoid braking out the pc? Thanks.

well it wasn't from the wax.. more than likely those have been there and you just hadn't noticed them

Are the holograms on every square inch of pain surface?

Are the holograms heavy on some areas and light in others? Or is it uniform?

How did you prepare the paint prior to applying the wax?

What type of applicator did you use to apply the wax? How many applicators did you use?

Did the applicator(s) change color as you were applying the wax?

They werent there already. I polshed out the whole car in july and evrytime its in the sun, im alway looking for swirls and stuff. I was thinking it could have been the cheap pads and using to much product. I just want to get rid of them without using th pc.

From what ive noticed, there mainly on one side of the car.
I just did a basic hand wash.
They are terry applicator pads from advanced auto, I only used 1.
No it didnt change colors.

I think it is one of two things.... but each are based on the fact that most of Mother's retail Wax products (especially the synthetics) contain cleaning agents. This means the old LSP was being stripped as you were applying Mother's (the new LSP)

1- If you didn't swap out applicators after a few panels then you were essentially mixing the new LSP with the old LSP and any embedded contaminants not picked up by your washes. Over time the pad became saturated with gunk and new LSP. I would say this one is likely if the hologram trails match the way you applied the product and/or the holograms start showing up on the latter panels you were touching.

2- The cleaners removed the previous LSP and any fillers it had, and now you can see holograms that were just hidden. This one is likely if the hologram trails do not match the way you applied the product.

One thing you can do is rewash the car and see if the holograms diminish at all. If they do, then #1 is more plausible. Back in July, what polishes did you use and what was your previous LSP?

you can induce swirls but those aren't "rotary holograms" and yeah a terry applicator isn't the best but its not going to singlehandidly trash your paint in one application

Yes, the trails do match the way I applied the wax. When I polished it in july I used M105/M205, followed by xmt 360 spray wax. I washed the car agan the other day and it looked the same, ill wash it again tomorrow and strip all the lsp and see what happens.

It is probably from using a terry applicator pad. Especially on black paint it will show up.

OK that helps. They are not holograms, rather a haze.

With the Megs combo and XMT 360 SW on the paint, and only using one terry pad for the whole car.... the terry pad became saturated with new and old LSP products, as well as the oils in 105 and 205 (assuming you didn't do an IPA prior to XMT 360 SW). As you progressed from panel to panel the haze became more noticeable.

In the future, at least with this combination of new and old products.... use a few applicators.

Also, just to share approaches I would typically use a microfiber applicator with cleaner/wax and cleaner/sealants. Terry applicators I reserve for polishing by hand. Microfiber is less aggressive.
