Help needed - Diesel dust accumulation

    Hi all

I am in desperate need of some advice.

A mate of mine has a VW Caddy panel van into which he has thrown a huge turbo.... now the problem is the huge amounts of diesel smoke pouring out the exhaust when under boost.

This in turn means that even after short drives, the rear of his white caddy turns black, and requires at least daily washing, and this obviously increases the risk of swirls etc.

We have cleaned up the back and coated with #845, hoping that he could then just hit it with a foam cannon and HP rinse it off, but this is not working as planned.

Is there any advice on a product that could help?

    Thanks in advance

Iron X, clay, polish, Opti Coat.

    Sounds like a good approach...

To the OP, if you're not aware, Opti-Coat II is an actual coating that you apply onto the paint. At a minimum this would put a barrier-film between the paint and the diesel film.

You can see Optii-Coat II in action here, note it was applied by first-timers...

I was a vague on my process. But to add some more, I would take lots of time on the decontamination process. If the diesel smoke is that bad you will want to make sure all that stuff is off the paint before you apply Opti Coat.

...and here is what it looks like from the drivers POV when boosting... You can see the smoke billowing out the back, and this is with an exhaust pointing straight down into the ground
