Re: My first order from AG!
So are the 5.5 pads that much more effective than the 6.5?

I recommend Micro Fiber pads on the compound process. Better results, faster.

The machine has a certain amount of power. The smaller the pad, the more that power is concentrated for faster cutting in the area the pad works. To get the same cutting power with a larger pad, you would need a more powerful machine. A Flex 3401 can handle a 6.5 inch pad well, but a 5.5 pad is better for a PC. You can use a 6.5 inch pad, but it won't cut as well, and you won't be able to apply as much pressure to it without it stopping, because the big pad acts like a big brake shoe. A smaller pad slips more, which allows it to cut more. No slip, no cut.

Re: My first order from AG!
Also I just got the book "The Art of Detailing by Mike Phillip's", and find it very helpful. It will save time trying to look up info. My garage is 4 miles from my home and no internet. I have been printing and writing down information to save in a notebook. Stuff I thought I might need to take with me. When I got the book most of what I had saved was in the book.

Get you a good variety of them too and enough to switch them out often. To each is own though. I just feel you'll get a better value and better use for your money. I'd add what Bobby said to add as well. Skip the wheel sealant and do what snowking said. I've pretty much given up on wheel sealants because I still use OPC....oooooo...pick up some OPC too!!!
I have been spec'ing it out a la carte and I just now compared the numbers.
I can get a set of 5.5 pads and more stuff than the kit for nearly $30 less! Shu-weeeet!
