What's your detail process and how long does it take!!
Hey guys, I'm obviously new to the detailing scene and now have about 4 cars under my belt... Here's my problem I'm taking entirely too long. All of my services have been what i consider a full detail. Wash/Clay/XMT 360 followed by DP max Wax as well as full interior w/ spot cleaning. At my current pace it's taking me around 6-8 hours!!! I find myself doing stuff over and over, and don't exactly have an organized process.. Is this unusal for a beginner!!!!! So i'm looking for advice to speed up, or will it just come with time??? By the way I'm using the PC 7424xp

I can do the following 2.5, max 3 hours.....using a gg6:
1. If needed, Clay with ONR lube
2. Blackfire Total Polish and Seal on an orbital with green CCS pad- this leaves almost no haze
3. Remove with BF poly spray
4. Blackfire crystal seal - no buff at all
Done , BF spreads so easily it's a treat to work with....

It might take longer depending on the car, I follow this method
Cool down rims
Clean rims and tires
Wash
Dry
Clay if needed
Correction
Clean Interior
Seal if needed
wax
Somewhere in there, you could clean the interior too!

Re: What's your detail process and how long does it take!!
On a standard size sedan, takes me about 4 hours.
Hand wash including tires and wells..1 hour
Interior detail including vac and extract 1-1.5 hours
Exterior one-step 1-1.5 hours.
As you do more, you'll get more comfortable and your time will come down a bit. Until it does, try and price your jobs to make your desired hourly rate and it will hurt less.

Re: What's your detail process and how long does it take!!
I don't do this for a living and I only work with expensive cars, so spending 30+ hours on a car is normal for me..
But yeah, if you do this for money, I'd say 5 to 6 hours is pretty good, unless you're doing 5 steps on every car.
