Removal of road paint

My co-worker has dried overspray from the road on her 2012 Nissan Rogue. I recommend she try Meguires Clay Kit which she did. The results were not that good. She still has some left. Not only on the paint, but on the black cladding running the length of the car. Any suggestions for removal other than wet sanding?

I used Enamel reducer and even fond that WD40 did a nice job dissolving it.....

Acetone, reducer or thinner will work great on painted panels but it will run a risk of discoloring bare plastics. Depending on how aggressively the overspray has to be removed, I'd expect to do a light polishing afterward.

Hold on. You told someone to use clay on their paint to remove hard road paint? Wow. They is one of the worst things to do. It removes it but scratches are going to be left behind everywhere because what did come off is being rubbed into the paint. A light paint thinner or acetone works well. Please don't ever tell anyone clay again. Lol

Try some meguiars super degreaser straight. It should work pretty well.

dont know if you got it up in the wheel wells but i found out personally that it wasnt worth the effort to try and get it out. all auto parts stores sell a spray coating for covering it up that is amazing and looks perfect. just a thought. plastic razor blades can help too.

Ive used a power washer for inside the wheel well area. I was lucky enough to not have any road paint on the rest of the car.
