    bird poop

    Looked at a silver suv with bird poop acid etched into the hood.....my plan of attack
    XMT 3 and orange pad.....rotary..... any thoughts?

    depending how deep, i'm thinkin xmt3 may be a little too agressive. granted, this wouldnt really matter, but if you are only going to buff that one spot, its going to stick out like a sore thumb. let us know how it goes.

    start with the least agressive pad / Polish combo

    bird polish can etch a clearcoat in no time. It even seems to reak havoc with sealants, not as much to carnaubas. As said, start with least abrasive and work your way, but dont be surprised if a little wet-sanding is needed on long standing doo-doo.

    Be sure to wax it with carnauba wax when you are done. If you are looking for a durable carnauba - 845 or 476S is the way to go.

    Bill, I took out some real bad scratches with OC and green Edge 2K pad on my rotary set at 1500. But as other have said "start with the least agressive pad / Polish combo."
