    Removing smoke soot from headliner

I have smoke soot on my headliner from 3 sooty fingers that a passenger got on my headliner while climbing in my vehicle. How can I remove this?

I do not have an extractor or steamer. I do have OPC and APC+ but not sure they would be effective on smoke soot.

OPC at 3;1 will clean that right up.

Spray on mf and gently rub on stain and watch it go Bye-Bye.

becareful not to saturate the headliner. otherwise it will sag because you weakened the adhesive holding it in place.

Optimum Power Cleaner will do the trick.
303 Spot Remover will work fine as well.

Then bloat the stain with a microfiber towel and suck it up with a shop-vac, you don't need a steamer.

On a leather headliner, you can also scrub gently with a toothbrush, but that's not the case today, hehe, so just bloat gently with a MF towel.

What the crap did he have this stuff on his fingers for, is he a chimmneysweep?

I hate it when someone rides in my car. My next car will be a 1 seater

My passenger was burning a brush pile on his farm. He accidentally got this on my headliner. It has been there for probably 5 years now so I'm hoping to remove this week with your suggestion of OPC.

    Thank You All!

I have used APC diluted 10:1 and 15:1 with outstanding results.

Use a small soft toothbrush if you need to lift dirt out and then damp or lightly vaccum out.

Here is a headliner restoration I did sometime back...
