Can you melt paste wax?
I have a can of FK1000p and I want to try to put it in a clean deodorant stick. A 5.5 pad doesnt really fit . Does any ill effect happen when melting it?? Thanks!

I asked this same question a while back. Well, aside from the whole deodorant stick part. What was mentioned was, you can't just pop it in the microwave. You'll need a double boiler. You might ask your wife/girlfriend for permission before using hers.

That's a great idea, I know in theory it should be fine. I'm interested in knowing this as well since I have to use my 3" polisher to fit in my FK1000 tin.

Re: Can you melt paste wax?
I tried the double boiler thing with some NXT 2.0 and Meg's cleaner wax a couple of months ago. It seems to work just fine, but beware, it will make one heck of a mess.
Might want to acquire some junky thrift store pots to try it with.

Re: Can you melt paste wax?
I do the double boiler type of thing and it works just fine, without any mess.
After it is melted I will mix two or more varieties together and create my own formula. So far they have always worked perfectly.

I attempted to melt some poorboys blue wax with a torch. Found out it's flammable.. hah

I've done it many times. You can buy the empty deodorant sticks online they are called "Lotion dispensers" I don't remember where I bought them from. They were less than a dollar each.
Heat the wax in a double boiler just enough for it to melt clear, fill the stick and let it cool. I have filled sticks with Vintage, Royale, Fusion, SSII, Souveran, Max Wax and others. All of them worked.
BE CAREFUL hot paste wax is about the most flamable mixture you will ever encounter. No flames in the area and have a fire extinguisher at hand. Double boil is a must.
The "Old Spice" sticks are really good for this. The Oblong shape is perfect for application to a machine polishing pad. If you want a pre made stick, Griot makes one containg an excellent carnauba.

Why go through the hassle? Just pop it out and rub on
