Do you use 2 grit guards?
Hi all,
I wash my car using the two-bucket method, and use the Grit Guard insert in the water-only bucket and it works very well, the shampoo bucket stays clean and all.
Can any of you share if you are using a second Grit Guard in the shampoo bucket as well, and if this method has any obvious advantages?
Thank you!

I do use the second one in my wash bucket, but I wouldn't say there are any major differences. It does keep your mitt off the bottom of the bucket in case there is any dirt on the bottom, but if you rinse your mitt correctly in the other bucket there shouldn't be any in your wash bucket. The disadvantage is that you can't access as much water and my have to fill up your bucket as much. The only reason I have two is because they were on bogo.

I use 3 with 2 in the rinse bucket. This allows me to have more water in the rinse bucket and thus hold more dirt in the bottom, without dunking my arm up to the elbow in the rinse bucket.
Then again, I have been accused of wearing a belt & suspenders.

That's a good idea, I never would have thought about that, I'll try that.

I use 4...... 2 in each bucket. It really creates separation from the dirt at the bottom and the clean water.
I think the having one in each bucket is fine. The reason I would suggest using a grit guard in each bucket is that if you don't get all the debris off in your rinse bucket and you move over the the wash bucket, the extra grit guard will help to remove any excess and keep the dirt below your wash mitt. I rub my wash mitt in the rinse to clean it. and then again in the wash bucket just to make sure I am safe. Its call OCD...

Using one in the wash bucket stems from my rinseless washing and trying to minimize the product under the GG. Will be adding the 4th to my traditional wash set-up.
