Re: Tree sap!!! How to remove it?!?!

I've had good luck with No 7 Tar & Bug Remover. CarQuest used to carry it, but no longer. Guess I'll go on-line.

My all time favorite is plain ol' kerosene.

Yes, it will remove ALL of whatever wax/sealant and possibly some surface marring, but the sap will be history.

Re: Tree sap!!! How to remove it?!?!

been trying to remove a dozen or so splotches that I think are dried sap, they are slightly raised above the clear and are light colored and hard as heck, I have tried alcohol, mineral spirits, hand sanitizer, but have been working outside and it is close to winter here and the eliments are working against me. in two days I have arranged to use a local garage and plan on letting some of the above items dwell on the spots to see if given some time in a heated garage might losen them up. Origionally was thinking of using a light polish but was told not to. the thinking was since they were so hard they might be reduced with a DA and the right combination of pad and product, going to leave that as a last resort. still need to try a dedicated tar remover also and goo gone possibly. am I on the right track?
