compound vs polish
whats the difference I know you use polish to remove swirls but I have also read that you use compound to remove swirls I have megs ultimate compound which I used to remove swirls from my 06 ram it worked pretty well got rid of 99% of the swirls

Compounds are basically more heavily cut versions of polish...if you try a polish and it doesn't do whatever you are trying to achieve, you compound to "take it a step higher" as far as cut, then you go back to your polish to finish off the job, it all depends on how soft your paint is, but do a test spot to see if the polish does what you want.

also working with different pads and hand vs machine can and will make a difference but do a search you will find this has been covered many times with lots of detailed info?
