Cleaning vents
I'm wondering what kind of tools and solvents you guys use to clean thick grime from dash vents. Obviously the soft detail brushes don't move the thick stuff, so I'm curious as to how you guys go about taking those old caked up vents and make them look new again. Thanks in advance!

I've been considering a tornador. Right now I'm giving then a good soaking, and the using composed air to blow the crud lose, but I can never get them as clean as I'd like to.

Brush, APC+ and the corner of a microfiber. Seems to work fine for me.

If you can afford one...then get it. I have two, and I'll be buying a third just for back up. That's how important they are for me. I will not be without one. They make things so easy.
But, for vents that are absolutely disgusting, I spray some apc, hit them with steam and maybe a brush. Then, follow up with the Tornador to dress them. Works every time.
Steam is great to clean out the vent tunnels as well. Most the time when vents are that bad, it's because someone was heavily smoking in the vehicle. Doesn't hurt to spray some cleaner, open up all the vents, and filter steam through for about a minute in each vent. Does wonders for the smell when the customer turns the air on.
