    Looking for Pad Advice.

Alright guys, first real question thread. I have the V1 Meguiar's G110 DA with 5" backing plate and I am getting ready to buy some new pads. I have been using the Meguiar's 6.5" Polishing and Finishing pads but they are pretty much toasted.

I have done reading and even though I see a lot of recommendations for flat pads I have been wanting to try the CCS pads for a long time and am still thinking about going that route. I am debating on size, I have used the 6.5" pads and have had no problems but I figure the 5.5" pads would have a better cutting ability as obviously it would be a smaller surface displacing the power.

My question and advise I am looking for is which size would be advisable? I am not so much worried about the "safety" factor of having a larger pad.

I also like I said am highly looking to the CCS pads, but if you have what you consider a valid point or experiences with any different pad feel free to let me know. I am far from a pad expert at this point so I will take a look and listen to about any recommendation. I just am looking to try some new stuff this time around.

Also, thanks ahead of time for your responses!

I just faced the same sit - did a six pac of the 6.5 CCS from the store here - a couple orange and then one of each as they move down the list. I'm set.

I would go with 5.5" flat pads for sure.

CCS pads do not cut as well, and in my experience tend to suck up product.

I will look back into them. I take your words in high regard. I have learned a bit from you in the very short time I have been here.

    Re: Looking for Pad Advice.

All LC pads are great, and Buff and Shine pads are awesome as well.

What really matters for DA is size: 5" for cut, 5 or 6 for polish, and 6 for finish (bigger footprint...faster, etc.)

    Re: Looking for Pad Advice.

I use the Lake Country and Cobra Cross Groove pads. I mainly use the white and blue. I have had really good luck with both pads. I have not tried the flat pads as of yet, but have heard good things about them. I do not like the Compression Pads so I will stay away from ordering any more of those.

I thought CCS pads were designed to suck/absorb less product?

So did I, but for some reason I always use more product when using them.
