What's the worst that could happen from mixing QD's?
Does anybody ever mix QD's of different brands?
I have about 8 oz of DP Final Gloss QD that I've had for a while and a sample bottle (2-3oz?) of Poorboy's QD+ that I'd like to combine because I like to use the sample spray bottle for something else.
I'd assume the worse that could happen would be streaking. I hate to waste either one, but I'd really like to free up the bottle so I thought I'd ask before trying it...

Quick detailers are very light products intended to be used to wipe off dust, fingerprints, and smudges. I think the worst that could happen is a little streaking, possibly.

The only time I've ever done it was with PB Spray & Wipe and some Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax. I had maybe twice as much S&W as the Lucas. I didn't notice any ill effects, but I'm sure depending on the brand & the ingredients it could cause some issues.

I do it all the time with different brands and no issues. I use the same bottle for all of my qd's so when it's almost empty I just add the next one. The only one I don't mix is my Finish Kare.

I think I mixed 2 or 3 different brands once and didn't have any issues.

Laura,
I doubt there would be any seriously negative interaction between the two products. You could always do a little test. For example if you had 8oz of DP and 2 oz of PB, assuming that the sprayers put out a similar volume per pump, you could pump one squirt of PB on a panel and 4 squirts of DP on top of that and spread it around, wipe, and see what happens. Are the results worse than either of those products? Yes? Then you might end up with 10oz of inferior product. No? Then you don't have much to lose.
I've found myself scrounging for sprayers around the house too. If I haven't set aside some empties to reuse, the best use of my time is usually to just buy some empties.

Just buy some extra bottles, they aren't that expensive. Or go wash your car and use the rest of your QD
