Tree Sap Damage
My client's Lexus LS460 has tree sap damage on the hood, roof, and trunk. It looks like the clear has been eaten away and can be felt by your finger. I know pics are needed for more help, I will do that in a week when his next maintenance detail is due. But for now, any ideas to correct these problems? I first thought of wetsanding then compounding/polishing. Any ideas?

Re: Tree Sap Damage
Are you sure it's the clear coat your feeling when you run your finger across it ? Maybe some left over tree sap is still on it personally I have never seen tree sap eat away at the clear coat you might be able to wet sand the parts just a little to take the edge off this way it won't be that noticeable I would be very careful and make sure the customer knows what your trying to do before he blames you for something your were just trying to help with
