Boat Oxidation

Hey everyone. I know there's a motorcycle section, didn't see a boat one. At any rate. For my girlfriends dad's Christmas present, I think I'm going to bring back his boat. It's slightly oxidized but isnt that bad. It gets washed after every use to remove the salt and whatnot. Given Collinites longevity, does anyone have experience with any of their boat products? What are the differences between the wax and fleet wax?

Look at the Gel Coat Labs stuff. I am using their one step micro polish with sealant on the 32ft pro line I am working on right this second, lol. All of their stuff is amazing for gel coat.

This is a cleaner/wax,
Collinite Liquid Fleetwax #870


Think of this as a finishing wax, (non-cleaning, surface should be pre-cleaned using #920
Collinite Fiberglass Boat Wax #925


If you want to do the boat in one step then go with the Fleetwax...

If you want to do two steps then using the #920 and follow with the #925

Thanks Mike. I'm glad I found this suggestion. I'm doing my first boat this weekend. It's probably never had a coat of wax on it, but is washed well after ever trip. I only have about 4-6 hrs and it's an off-white Robalo, so it won't get a mirror shine on it, but I just want to give it a little TLC. I was going to use 925, but after seeing your post I'm going to get a bottle of 870. Do you think I should use a red pad to put on the 870?

The 870 still has a light cleaning effect that may clog up the red pad faster that you think. The fiberglass boat wax & insulator wax seem very similar to me. Either of those will give a really nice shine and might last a bit longer than the Fleetwax. Use the red pad for either of those. Remember thin!,a little goes a long way.
if you one step it with Fleetwax, I might go with a white pad,you will need a few of them. Fleetwax does a good job on mild oxidation but clogs pads quickly in doing so. Kind of a trade off instead of doing several steps.
