How to wax stripes on porsche cayman S?
This weekend I'm going to be detailing a Porsche cayman S, it has racing stripes and according to him they are painted on, I assumed they were decals because they're elevated from the surface. So anyway, how would you guys go about claying, waxing and polishing these?

Were they factory applied?
If they're painted on and glossy treat them as you would any normal painted finish.
If they were applied later chances the paint is a bit softer than the factory so mask them off and treat them carefully, don't be overly aggressive with the polishing compounds.

Are they matte stripes or are they glossy stripes? If they are a matte finish I would use Ultima Trim and Tire Guard (UTTG) on them and keep any wax off of them. If they are glossy painted stripes I would treat them like the rest of the paint. I would be concerned with getting a dried wax line along the edge of the stripes. This would be an eye sore and wouldn't be visible until the wax fully cures a few days after the job was completed so you wouldn't even know it happened unless the customer called you complaining about it. If you do use a carnauba wax on the paint I'd suggest not rubbing it right up to the edge of the stripes but rather stay 1/4" or so from the stripes when applying the wax.

Very good advice.

They are factory applied, not sure if they're glossy or not, I'll check when I see the car. I'll probably do like you said and gp 1/4 inch away from the stripes.
