Re: Purple Power Cleaner
I use it as my only APC...
Wheels: Full strength (Generally on the wheels that I can't use Megs Wheel Bright on)
Tires: Full strength
Wheel Wells: Full strength
Engine Bay: Full strength
Vinyl Interior Bits: aprox 1:10 Ratio
Leather: 1:20 Ratio
Carpets: 1:1 Ratio (unless nasty then full strength)
Exterior De-Greasing (Pre wax and sap and bug removal): Full strength
I buy it by the 5 Gallon Bucket

Like with any other product you would use cleaning the paint (washing) keep the surface wet, make sure the surface is not hot and don't work in the Sun. You might even do a section at a time then rinse untill you feel more comfortable

Re: Purple Power Cleaner
How does it work on carpets in comparison to something like Megs APC+? I have purple power but I use it on tires, wheel wells, and engines. Never tried it on anything on the interior since i haven't really needed anything stronger than Megs APC+, but it is cheaper than the Megs and I can get it at advance auto for under $5/gallon with coupns and stuff.

I am not as daring as crownkote to use Purple Power on the interior. For carpets, Folex works great. After reading the AG forum, I thought I would give Folex a try...glad I did. It works great. I only use it as a spray. I also use 303 on the carpet and use it in my little green pro.
I think I got the Folex at Home Depot for a few dollars. IMO, it's worth it

Re: Purple Power Cleaner
I always have a bottle of Folex on hand but use APC+ on a regular basis. Depends on the stain I guess.
I'm thinking the purple power might be good on those major turds? I have a wholesale account that consistently gives me turds, but I get to experiment on them so it is sometimes worth it

Re: Purple Power Cleaner
I used purple power diluted to 4:1 on one my floor mats once when a pen somehow broke and leaked a #### load of ink on it.
It was still a little wet. I sprayed wiped, sprayed wiped, srayed wiped etc. It ruinied my microfiber turning it almost totally black, but it work and got all the ink out to my suprise.

Re: Purple Power Cleaner
Today I shampooed my van's carpet. First I spayed folex and brushed it in. Then I sprayed 10:1 Purple Power and brushed it in. I then used my house hot water extractor with plain water. The carpets look brand new.

Re: Purple Power Cleaner
I recently stopped using it on tires and wheels because I was told that one of the chemicals in it will dry and rot tires.

Which chemical Garry? Can that chemical be found in other commonly used cleaners?
